Reasons for a cure letter include but are not limited to: a missing or non-matching signature to that on file, a missing or non-matching personal identifier (must be one of the following: date of birth, last 4 digits of SSN, driver’s license number, or voter ID number), or no reference signature on file.īallots were mailed to all eligible Juneau voters on September 13. Please watch your mailboxes for a cure letter and follow the instructions in the letter to ensure your ballot can be counted. Additional cure letters will be sent out between now and election certification, scheduled for the week of October 17. Out of those 4,000 ballots, just over 100 voters have been sent cure letters identifying one or more issues with their ballot envelope that must be addressed before the ballot can be approved for counting. At the new CBJ Ballot Processing Center off Thane Road, we have already processed nearly 4,000 ballots to prepare them to be opened for counting beginning on Election Day. Voting in the 2022 CBJ Regular Municipal Election will close at 8 p.m., October 4, 2022, and for the first time, the by-mail election is being conducted entirely within Juneau. With Election Day just around the corner, thousands of Juneau voters have already cast their ballots in this year’s by-mail/hybrid election-and if you haven’t, you still have five days left to vote.
